Field observation stations

The buoyage in Jinwan Offshore Wind Farm is a mounted real-time marine environment monitoring system, which is equipped with physical-bio-chemical multi-parameter monitoring sensors. The buoy monitoring system can continuously collect and real-time transmit in-situ meteorological, ocean current, hydrology, nutrients, dissolved oxygen and other data. A three-dimensional real-time marine monitoring and forecasting system is constructed based on the sampling and numerical model of a survey in the region to monitor and predict the formation, maintenance and extinction of marine eutrophication and anoxia.

Observation and Research Station for the Zhenhai Bay Coastal Ecosystems, Zhenhai Bay Station for short, is located in Zhenhai Bay National Wetland Park, Taishan City, Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province. It is a typical subtropical bay mangrove wetland ecosystem, with the most complete and largest contiguous mangrove forest in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It has the characteristics of the mountain and sea landscape elements. Adjacent to the famous aquaculture (oyster) base in Zhenhai Bay, it is a typical subtropical coastal wetland landscape coupling with nature and humanity. The station is equipped with landscape scale vorticity covariance carbon, water, energy flux, meteorology, hydrology, large aperture scintillometer, stable carbon isotope and three-dimensional ultrasonic wind speed profile observation instruments, which can carry out continuous automatic observation. The observatory was completed in January 2024 and is now operational.
